Joining Lancom as a Graduate Systems Engineer, Jacques quickly realised he was made for Software Development. When we had an opening for a Full Stack Junior Developer, Jacques was quick to apply. Showing an outstanding result, he moved to become one of Lancom's Software Developers.
Prior to joining Lancom, Jacques went on a path to become an electrician, soon realising that the challenge wasn't there fore him. He also worked at BikeBarn fixing and selling bikes, achieving one of the biggest sale transactions the store ever had! ($20k worth of bikes).
Jumping from bikes to computers, Jacques decided to study Information Science and Software Engineering, which granted him a career at Lancom.
In sharing his highlights working at Lancom, Jacques quotes:
"I wouldn't have a single highlight to share, I have a few!", and these are:
- Having the opportunity to fix bugs on my first week as a graduate developer, enabling Lancom's customers to enjoy a stress-free app experience
- Implementing the first major feature release for TimeSanity, a Lancom internal application which is sold globally to Technology service providers
- The support received when transitioning from a Graduate Systems Engineer to a Graduate Developer
In his spare time, Jacques loves making IoT enabled devices, and is currently working on a temperature sensor mesh network that will show cold and hot spots in rooms. We can't wait to see the result of his project!
