Getting to know: Dan Apperley

A brand new addition to the Lancom team, Dan Apperley joins our business as a Customer Success Manager. With a mission to further Lancom's customer-centric vision, Dan is coming on-board to work with our growing customer base in delivering pragmatic solutions to achieve their goals.

Born in the UK, Dan began his career as an Analyst Programmer. Over the years he moved between the UK and NZ further building his web development skills and gaining leadership experience at a range of companies, including Microsoft. 

After moving permanently to NZ, Dan joined Datacom as a Solutions Architect, where he consulted, designed and delivered systems. He was then promoted to a Business Unit Manager where he managed a team, effectively as a small business, providing a range of support and development services to customers. After growing and managing the business unit for 8 years, Dan took on a Corporate Applications Manager role at Datacom, where he was responsible for developing and supporting the core internal systems which the company used to run the business.

In 2017, Dan joined HRV as the IT Development manager, preparing an IT roadmap for the company to meet strategic goals and delivering the highest priority items to assist the business and modernise systems to enable a move towards a more digital business.

A family man, Dan spends his free time as an unpaid Uber driver for his children's sport activities. He's also a keen photographer, which is a hobby that aligns quite well with his enjoyment of being outdoors. He also enjoys playing the odd round of golf! ⛳🏌️

When we asked Dan "Why Lancom?" his answer was concise, yet valuable: 

"I had previously worked with Lancom as a customer and during that time I formed a very positive view of the company. I respected the values which Lancom displayed and I enjoyed working with all the Lancom staff involved. I was impressed by the scope of capabilities which Lancom provided and the way in which they worked. So, when my situation at work changed and I was approached about a role at Lancom, I was very interested in it and the opportunity to work with a very progressive company which I held in high regard."

A big believer in building transparent trusted partner relationships, Dan is all about finding innovative solutions to achieve our customers goals. His technical background followed by a wide-range of business experience means he is well equipped to hit the ground running.
