Never miss a word again with Livescribe smartpens

Written by  Mysti

Ever wish there was a way to easily transfer your hand written notes to a computer, or that you could go back in time and listen to what was being said when you wrote them? The Livescribe smartpen is a really ingenious device that allows you to record and playback everything that you write and hear.

Here’s a closer look at the features of Livescribe smartpens:

  1. Record– The pens have an infrared camera that captures everything that you write and draw. A built-in microphone captures everything that is said.
  2. Playback – The smartpens also have a speaker, so you can easily playback what was said at a particular point in time just by tapping on the corresponding section of your notes.
  3. Save – You can connect your smartpen to your computer and save your notes and recordings for easy access whenever you need them.
  4. Share – Livescribe makes it easy for you to share your notes and audio through email, Google Docs, Facebook, and Evernote.
  5. Customise- There are a number of apps you can purchase to customise your smartpen. These include things like translation and dictionary tools.

Livescribe currently has two types of pens available, the Pulse Smartpen and the Echo Smartpen. Here’s a quick video that show the LiveScribe Pulse Smartpen in action

Note: For a Livesribe pen to work you need to write on Livescribe dot paper. Livescribe pens and dot paper notebooks can be purchased from both Amazon and Fishpond.
